Items to be recycled include newspaper (including all inserts). Place them in a brown paper bag and put them in the recycling bin. Other items include:
- All tin food cans
- Aluminum and bi-metal cans (remove all food residue and remove labels if possible)
- Cardboard (please flatten)
- Magazines and junk mail
- Plastics including soda bottles, wide-mouthed beverage containers, milk and water jugs. These should also be rinsed and labels removed.
Polystyrene (egg cartons, cups, plates, produce and meat trays) will also be taken as well as poly-coated paperboard (milk cartons, refrigerated juice cartons, "gable" top containers and "brick" shaped drink boxes).
The recycling is billed on the water bill. The current rate is $1.50 per month (billed quarterly).
