VanTran is available to residents of Vandalia and Butler Township, age 60 years and older, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. Riders are required to board the vehicle unassisted, and the vehicle is not wheelchair accessible. Senior Center membership is not required to utilize VanTran. Destinations may include, but are not limited to, grocery, bank, post office, pharmacy, hair salon, medical appointment, church, Senior Center, Recreation Center.
To register, a one-time lifetime registration fee of $20 to the City of Vandalia is required. Then to utilize the van services, purchase either a $10 or $20 ticket. The $10 or $20 ticket is then used to pay for the cost of a one-way trip. A one-way trip is $1, $2, or $3 depending on the location area of drop-off/pick up. A transportation map is located at the Senior Center in the hallway by the kitchen or you can find it below.
