2. Summer CampREC Application Guidelines

   The City of Vandalia’s Parks & Recreation Department has developed a scholarship program for students of Vandalia-Butler City Schools requesting financial assistance to participate in the summer CampREC program at the Vandalia Recreation Center. Students who meet the qualifications and income requirements listed below are eligible to apply. 

   Important Information

   1. Applicants must attend Vandalia-Butler City Schools.
   2. Eligibility does not guarantee a spot in the program.
   3. Fully completed applications are TIME SENSITIVE and must be submitted by Friday, March 14, 2025 to be considered. Applicants must submit a letter from Vandalia-Butler City Schools stating they receive free or reduced lunch with their application. 
   4. Scholarships will be awarded on a first come first served, based on need and availability of scholarship funds.
   5. Granting of scholarships does not ensure continued approval for succeeding years.
   6. The maximum scholarship available will be the following:  Reduced Lunch Applicants - 50% of weekly fee(s); Free Lunch Applicants - 75% of weekly fee(s).
   7. Families are responsible to pay the percentage of fees not covered by the scholarship.
   8. Once a scholarship is awarded, the recipient has 14 days to register prior to the start of camp. If recipient does not register within this timeframe, the funds will go to the next qualified recipient.
   9. Applicants that do not use all the scholarship monies will not be able to carry them forward to future years of camp but can reapply next year.
   10. All information on the application must be accurate. If false information, omissions, or misrepresentations are discovered, the application may be rejected.
   11. All requests for scholarships will be evaluated by Recreation staff.
   12. Information is confidential and is not a matter of public record.

    Please upload your letter from the Vandalia-Butler City Schools here. You may also email it to Sara Moyer at smoyer@vandaliaohio.org or drop it off at the Vandalia Recreation Center Front Desk at 1111 Stonequarry Rd, Dayton, OH 45414. Letter must be received by Friday, March 14, 2025.
