Amber decided to run for City Council because she felt she could make a difference. “Our choices as members of the Council will significantly impact the community for the next twenty years and beyond. As a community member myself, and with children who will still be here and active in the future, we must have a say in shaping that future” she noted.
She has a well rounded wealth of experiences as a wife, mother and homeowner. As well as being the Operations Manager of her family's small automotive repair shop for almost twenty years, and community servant here in Vandalia.
Amber has created a large resume of community service. Most recently serving on the Board of Zoning Appeals as Vice Chair and the Community Reinvestment Area Housing Council Board. She served on the Steering Committee for the City's Comprehensive Plan and Fire Departments Strategic Plan. Is a Board Member at the Nurturing Nest Child Care Center and Vice President of Helke Elementary’s PTA and a Member of Vandalia Sister Cities and Oktoberfest Steering Committee
In her spare time she enjoys eating at local small businesses, spending time with her family, reading and going to the range with her Armed Ladies Club
