Birthday Parties

The Vandalia Recreation Center offers birthday party packages to make your child's day special!

What's Included

The party package includes 1 1/2 hours in our Special Events Room or Ricky's Room and 2-hours in the VRC aquatics center, climbing wall, or Luther's Jungle. The pool, Luther's Jungle and climbing wall are shared spaces with other patrons in the facility during your rental.
Each party package covers 13 activity participants. Note: Extra activity participant wristbands can be purchased at the Vandalia Recreation Center Front Desk. Additional participants cost $6 each.
There is a maximum of 30 people per party room.

Activity Choices

Aquatic Center
Climbing Wall - The Climbing Wall is only available with a Saturday Birthday Party option. The Climbing Wall must be reserved 14 days in advance of Birthday Party.
Luther's Jungle - Party guests for Luther's Jungle must be between the ages of 4 and 9.

The VRC provides a shared Party Attendant to assist with welcoming your guests and answering any questions. The Lobby of the Vandalia Recreation Center is not to be used for a party. Due to multiple scheduled parties, room times are exact.

VRC Member or Vandalia Resident: $120; Non-Resident: $200

Refund Options

Credit card refunds will be credited to the original card.
Upon cancellation of a reservation at least two weeks from the scheduled party, the City will refund the rental fees collected, less a $15 administrative fee. Upon cancellation of a reservation less than two weeks before the party date, the City keeps rental fees up to half of paid party fees. Should the renter wish to reschedule, the new party date must be reserved at least 21 days prior or after the original event date. If the facility is not available for the rescheduled date or the request to reschedule 21 days after the initial party date, renter is subject to the cancellation policy above.
Cancellation and/or administrative fees may be waived if written documentation of illness, injury, family emergency, relocation, or other reason is submitted and approved by the Recreation Rental Coordinator.
No cancellation fee will be assessed if VPRD cancels rental due to weather or other extenuating circumstance.
Please note that refunds will not be issued in the form of household credits.

Booking Information

Proof of residency required to receive the resident rate. Please review the Aquatic Center's Rules and Regulations to avoid disappointment on the day of your party. Children 4 years and younger must be within arm's reach of someone 16 years of age or older and proper swim attire must be worn.
To book your party, you can go online at: Online Birthday Party Booking. All money for the birthday party is due at the time of booking.
If you do not have an account, you can set one up online with the above link. Click on the “Sign In/Register” tab in the top right corner to set up your account. Please note: if you are a resident, you will need to upload proof of residency to your account, so you can get the resident discount.
Once you set up your account and you verify your account via email, you can click on the Search tab, go under the Facility Rentals column, and click on Birthday Parties. From there, you can look up the date you are interested in for your party. Birthday party fees are due at time of booking.
Order Domino's Pizza for your birthday party! We have a special for birthday parties; get a 2 topping large pizza for $9.99. Mention "VRC Special" when ordering. This special is for the Vandalia Dominos Pizza location only.
