 Vandalia Fire Division

 The construction of Fire Station #2  was completed in 1980. The location on South Brown School Road was chosen in order to have a station closer to the eastern and southern part of Vandalia. Fire Station #2 was utilized for storage of additional pieces of apparatus and for training.


In 2008, Fire Station #2 received some upgrades and renovation with the intent of staffing 24/7 to better cover the eastern section of Vandalia. Offices were renovated and the outside was painted along with much needed stucco repair.  The parking lot is scheduled for repaving in 2011.

       In January 2010, man power was added 24/7 to cover the area east of I-75 in order to provide better coverage for the city with the addition of the new fire station on the west side of Vandalia.
